Award-Winning Volusia County Startup Novineer Takes 3D Printing to the Next Level

A game-changing idea born at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University promises faster, more environmentally benign production of lightweight, high-quality aircraft and rocket parts, biomedical implants, and a host of other consumer products. The company, called Novineer for its novel engineering solutions, will also help create high-paying jobs in Volusia County.

Novineer is poised to advance aviation, space exploration, manufacturing and the global 3D printing market, which reported $10.6 billion in revenue in 2021 and is expected to grow to more than $50 billion by 2030, according to the market research firm SmarTech Analysis.

Novineer won $30,000 in the Florida Venture Forum Pitch Competition

Novineer placed second in the competition, winning a total of $30,000.

Florida Venture Forum selected 19 presenting companies to present at its 15th annual Florida Early Stage Capital Conference, hosted in Tampa on October 11-12th.
In addition to the opportunity to present to Florida's leading venture investors, eligible companies were considered for cash awards totaling $100,000 provided by Space Florida. Past Early Stage Conference presenters have attracted over $600 million in equity funding.

Novineer presented at Eagle Startup Showcase

The first commercially available suborbital balloon technology, sensors embedded in sports helmets that can detect concussions in real time and design/simulation software for 3D printing were among the innovations recently showcased at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Build Stage Accelerator Demo Day, in collaboration with StarterStudio. The economic-development initiative focuses on new technologies to drive the creation of high-paying jobs in Volusia County, Florida, and beyond.

Participating startups are eligible to receive between $10,000 and $25,000 in funding from the StarterStudio Investment Committee's Evergreen Seed Fund upon reaching specific startup milestones. The first recipient of such funding is Novineer — a 3D printing design and simulation software firm led by CEO Ali Tamijani, who is also a professor of Aerospace Engineering at Embry-Riddle. The company earned $25,000.

Novineer is selected to participate in the StarterStudio Accelerator Program

To help jump-start a thriving innovation corridor offering high-quality, high-paying job opportunities in Volusia County, Florida, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has partnered with StarterStudio to relaunch its successful business accelerator program.

The intensive 10-week program, June 1 to Aug. 3, will provide significant mentorship to award-winning entrepreneurs, focusing on how to build, sustain and grow their businesses by focusing on their go-to-market strategies, perfecting their customer pitch and creating business infrastructure (including accounting, finance, legal, HR and insurance). At the end of the program, participating startups will pitch their companies during a demonstration event to an audience of advisors, sponsors, community stakeholders and the StarterStudio investment committee, for a chance to receive between $10,000 and $25,000 in funding, as well as matching funds in the future of up to $225,000.
