The simulation fails or runs out of memory
Solve time and memory scale with element count. How to coarsen the mesh and what to expect from an 8 GB machine.
Solve time and peak memory scale primarily with the number of tetrahedral elements (How NoviPath meshes your part, Computational time and memory). Raise the Min and Max Edge Factors for a coarser mesh, or widen the range between them, then re-run Meshing. NoviPath’s suggested factors are chosen so that the part solves comfortably on a computer with 8 GB of RAM; the clamp example in Example: mesh refinement on a thin-walled clamp shows how quickly memory grows as the range is tightened.
