Loads are defined in tray XYZ, not surface normal
Loads and restraints use the global tray X, Y, Z axes. How to handle a load that is normal to a tilted surface.
Important: In the current version, force and moment components and the built-in Fixed, Pinned, Slide, and Custom restraints use the global tray coordinate system (X, Y, Z), not a face normal or local surface frame.
Loads and restraints are specified only in the global (tray) X, Y, Z coordinate system. Orient a force or moment by entering its individual XYZ components in the input fields. If the physical load is normal to a tilted surface (or otherwise not aligned with the tray axes), compute those tray XYZ components outside the software and enter them manually.
The same applies to the Slide restraint: it frees one of the tray axes (X, Y or Z) and does not follow a tilted face normal. Use a Custom restraint when a different combination of degrees of freedom is needed (Restraint types and degrees of freedom).
Future versions are planned to support loads and restraints normal to the surface and in local coordinate systems, for greater modeling flexibility and ease of use. See Known limitations and planned features.
